A conversation with Maria Cristina Ospina M.D., a Movement Disorder Specialist at the Regional Parkinson Center in Phoenix, AZ.
In response to the concerns voiced at the September meeting – primarily by newly diagnosed people with Parkinson’s Disease, we have invited Dr. Maria Cristina Ospina, movement disorder neurologist and frequent program deliverer for Parkinson’s Movement Disorder Alliance (PMDA), as our guest.
Dr. Ospina is a movement disorders neurologist in private practice.
During her medical career Dr. Ospina has been active in medical research, participating in several NIH and pharmaceutical sponsored clinical trials. She has served as an investigator in the Parkinson Study Group as well as an invited speaker on a variety of topics related to movement disorders. She is trained in both the administration of botulinum toxin for dystonia, and the use of Deep Brain Stimulation and pumps in Parkinson’s disease. She believes in utilizing complementary modalities in Parkinson care and is an advocate for exercise to improve gait, flexibility and mood.
On February 27, movement disorder neurologist Neal Hermanowicz who practiced in Santa Fe before relocating to Eisenhower Medical Center, Rancho Mirage, CA, will present a program on Non-motor Symptoms of Parkinson’s Disease. He will also respond to your questions.
